When the 40 Days of Love took place in Valledupar, Colombia, 170+ local churches united to pray, care, and share the Gospel in their city. For forty days they worked as one body instead of as separate congregations.
The 40 Days of Love is a prayer, care, share evangelism campaign. DNI runs it to bring churches and ministries together around one shared mission, so that everyone in a community gets repeated opportunities to see, hear, and respond to the Good News of Jesus.
More than 7,000 people were exposed to the Gospel, with an estimated 1,000 deciding to follow Jesus for the first time. The 40 Days culminated with a stadium Gospel presentation, but souls were won to Jesus all along the way as believers took up the charge to share Jesus with their family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
Pastors in one room
Alongside the outreach, pastor renewal meetings ran through the 40 Days. Over 100 ministry leaders signed up to receive our Spanish discipleship materials so they could keep discipling their congregations after the campaign ended.
One of them, a pastor who is also a local radio personality, said what many in the room were thinking.

An abandoned park, given back
As a community outreach during the 40 days, churches went into an abandoned city park, and worked together to clean it up, turning it into a Bible themed park complete with scriptures, artwork, and Bible monuments honoring Jesus. They concluded with a time of dedicating the park to Jesus.

This is why DNI works the way it does. No single church or ministry can fulfill the Great Commission by itself, but when Christ-followers unite in prayer, evangelism, and discipleship, the Body of Christ has a far greater impact than any one organization working independently.
Seven thousand people hearing the Gospel, a thousand first decisions, more than a hundred leaders equipped to keep going, and a city park that now carries the words of Scripture. That is what God did through churches that decided to stop working alone.
